Alpaca

Alpacas resemble llamas, but are much smaller and bred exclusively for their fiber. It can be spun in many different weights, best when blended with some sheep's wool, as alpaca is a MEDULLATED, or hollow fiber, causing it to both lack memory, and be VERY warm!. It is soft, durable, luxurious and silky, and has no lanolin which makes it hypoallerge

nic. Alpaca is naturally water-repellent and difficult to ignite. We have both Huacaya, an alpaca that grows soft fluffy fiber, and has slight natural crimp, and Suri, which is much more silken, and almost dred lock!!
